from a .13 ha holding; 100% new wood and 50% whole clusters in 2022). A smoky combination somewhat grudgingly offers up a mix of poached plum, black cherry liqueur, kirsch, violet, rose petal and exotic tea. The delicious and almost painfully intense middleweight flavors are not especially dense though they are refined to the point of silkiness, all wrapped in a moderately austere bitter pit fruit-inflected finish that goes on and on. About Burghound.com

Burghound.com is the result of a nearly lifelong passion for the wines of Burgundy. For more than 30 years, I have been collecting the wines and visiting the region. Each year I spend nearly five months visiting, researching, tasting, exploring and evaluating. Burgundy is my obsession really. Expanding on my coverage of the coveted pinot noir grape, each issue provides continuous coverage of both Oregon and California pinot noir, with rotating coverage of Champagne and occasional special reports from other pinot producing regions.
