DOMAINE JEAN GRIVOT - Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er cru Les Pruliers - 2013

DOMAINE JEAN GRIVOT

Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er cru Les Pruliers 2013

Here the nose is compositionally similar to that of the Roncières except that there is less spice and more earth, indeed even a hint of animale. There is a beguiling purity to the tautly muscular, intense and energetic medium weight plus flavors that also possess a firm minerality on the saline-inflected, balanced and quite solidly structured finish. As it virtually always is, this is a bigger, more powerful and more tannic wine than either of its two Nuits 1er stable mates and as a natural consequence will require a few more years of cellar time. Recommended, again provided that you have the patience to wait for it to mature.

About Burghound.com

Burghound.com is the result of a nearly lifelong passion for the wines of Burgundy. For more than 30 years, I have been collecting the wines and visiting the region. Each year I spend nearly five months visiting, researching, tasting, exploring and evaluating. Burgundy is my obsession really. Expanding on my coverage of the coveted pinot noir grape, each issue provides continuous coverage of both Oregon and California pinot noir, with rotating coverage of Champagne and occasional special reports from other pinot producing regions.
