Elegant and perfumed, showing black cherry, strawberry and spice flavors that linger on the finish. Best from 2017 through 2024. 150 cases imported.

Allen Meadow, Janvier 2017 (Millésime 2014)

Here the expressive and overtly spicy nose is fresh and lovely with its floral, herbal tea, plum and cassis-suffused aromas. There is fine richness to the succulent and fleshy medium weight flavors that possess a relatively refined mouth feel thanks to the fine grain of the supporting tannins on the sappy and well-balanced finale. This is a terrific Vosne villages and highly recommended.

Mars 2017

Moderately saturated medium red. Livelier on the nose than the Charmois, with scents of black cherry, graphite and dark chocolate lifted by a floral quality. At once sweet and savory on the palate, with lovely acidity framing the red berry and cherry fruit flavors and extending the finish. Suaver and more pliant than the Charmois but the wine's more serious tannins and an element of peppery lift on the back end call for at least a couple years of patience.

Janvier 2015 (Millésime 2013)

Here the expressive nose blends both upper and lower register aromas of spice and floral nuances with notes of pomegranate and plum. There is a lovely mouth feel to the lightly mineral-inflected medium weight flavors that possess fine volume and intensity before culminating in a dusty, serious and mildly austere finish. This too will need up to a decade of cellar time to reveal its full potential.

Novembre 2016

Medium red. Musky aromas of darker berries and spices, plus a hint of flowers. Juicier and more energetic than the Nuits-Saint-Georges villages, but also conveying the plushness and chocolatey ripeness of the year. This, too, should be attractive early, but its length and sweet, harmonious tannins should give it staying power in the bottle.
