Août 2022 (Millésime 2020)

I love the enveloping aroma of ripe apricot and the way that the fine tannins underline the acidity that helps this rich dry riesling taste extremely refreshing. Great underplayed power at the very long and vital finish. Hard to believe that this fermented for almost a whole year, because it smells and tastes so pristine now! From biodynamically grown grapes.

Avril 2023 (Millésime 2021)

What a fascinating peachy, flinty and smoky nose this great dry riesling has. Power, energy and vitality on the generous palate, but also a profoundly chalky and flinty minerality. Long juicy finish that pulls you back for more. From biodynamically grown grapes.

Juillet 2021 (Millésime 2019)

There’s a lot of discussion about “noble austerity“ in wine, but those wines are often just a bit hard. Produced from biodynamically grown grapes, this wine has a certain mineral austerity, but it is welded to the ripest of citrus aromas and breathtaking vibrancy. Although this already makes an impressive statement, the core is so tightly packed that it will show even better after some time to unwind.

Septembre 2021 (Millésime 2019)

Compared to other Zind-Humbrecht Rieslings, Heimbourg seems more spicy. Indeed, the bouquet shows spices and nutmeg aromas with spring flowers, herbs, and lemon touches. The palate is tense and tight, very calcareous, with a chalky texture and a finish both bright and airy. A Riesling with an incredible aromatic persistence and a remarkable freshness, with a slightly tannic or even austere sensation that will smooth out with time in the cellar. Very good ageing potential.

2015

Flavors of white peach, graphite, exotic spice and bergamot are almost plump on the palate, yet razor-sharp acidity focuses this powerful, full-bodied white through to the lasting finish, which sings out with the wine's underlying smoke-tinged minerality.

Stephan Reinhardt, Février 2017 (Millésime 2015)

Harvested on the 3rd of September (it's from a south/south-west-facing vineyard!), the 2015 Riesling Heimbourg is pure, ripe and stony on the nose, with concentrated lemon and crushed stone aromas. Dense, intense and piquant, this is a very elegant, juicy but always lean Riesling; it has a long, pure and salty finish with a good structure. The acidity is ripe and perfectly integrated. Tasted as a sample that was ready to be bottled on one of the following days.

Février 2023 (Millésime 2021)

The 2021 Riesling Heimbourg is from a steep limestone plot in Turckheim, with just a little clay and topsoil. It is a hot west and southwest-facing site with an average vine age of 22 years. The tell-tale reduction clouds the nose. However, the palate comes in with a striking lemony, zesty aspect. This is juicy, totally approachable, flowy, supple and bone-dry. Youthful and utterly citrus-focused with pure, bright lemon flavors. (Bone-dry)

AN, 2017 (Millésime 2015)

Firm and broad-shouldered, this dry and spicy Riesling offers a vibrant mix of crunchy white peach and poached quince, slivered almond and fleur de sel notes. Long and spicy on the racy finish. Drink now through 2030.

Juillet 2022 (Millésime 2020)

(On limestone.) Lots of tension and apparently bone dry. Racy and very youthful. It will probably show even better in a few years.
