FAIVELEY

Meursault 1er cru Blagny 2021

- 92 points -

A Meursault premier cru from Blagny stood out at a recent tasting of the 2021 vintage at Faiveley. Its lemon peel and tangy, saline mineral aromas were inviting and given complexity by a hint of smoky reduction. The appellation, at the top of the slope in Meursault, is an interesting one. The texture on the palate was racy with fresh, crisp acidity, but there was no lack of body. Faiveley has purchased the grapes for this – they are not specialists in whites from the Côte de Beaune – but let’s hope they continue since the wine is pleasant indeed.
