About ARGIANO Argiano is a beautiful estate in the southern western portion of the Brunello di Montalcino DOCG. The estate has a long history of excellence in the region and is reaching new heights under new ownership. The 120 ha property follows the traditional Tuscan model of mixed land use featuring vineyards, olive groves and woodlands. A majestic Renaissance villa is also housed on the property making this one of the loveliest visits in the region.
Argiano produces brilliant examples of Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino as well as Super Tuscan IGT wines Non Confunditur and Solengo. The Non Confunditur, or NC, is an exceptionally drinkable and elegant blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Sangiovese while the Solengo uses only the French varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot and Syrah. Solengo, in particular, is quite a famous Super-Tuscan having been developed by the legendary oenologist Giacomo Tachis who was instrumental in creating several of the most famous Super Tuscan wines including Sassicaia, Tignanello and Solaia.
Today, the estate is undergoing the conversion to organics and Biodynamics. World famous oenologist Alberto Antonini has joined the team espousing his "less is more" philosophy to highlight the estates terroir. These facts coupled with the estate’s long history of excellence seem to indicate that the future is brighter than ever.
