L'Ecole founders Baker and Jean Ferguson shared a passion for wine and believed Washington State was a premium wine-growing region. This drove the husband and wife team to establish L'Ecole N° 41 in 1983. They were the third winery in Walla Walla and the 20th in Washington state at the time and four decades later, the wines of this family-owned winery are world class!

Jeb Dunnuck, July 2022

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from a mix of seven different vineyards and it's always a good value. Its deep purple color is followed by a ripe, opulent, full-bodied Cabernet with lots of plum and darker berry fruits, notes of chocolate, roasted herbs, and oak, ripe yet mouthcoating tannins, and a great finish. While it doesn't have the elegance of the top cuvées, it brings ample fruit and texture, and should keep for 10-12 years.

James Suckling, April 2022

A lush nose of black cherry, walnut, blackberry and blueberry. Full-bodied with fine tannins. Rich and dense layers of dark fruit with brooding complexity. Coffee, clove, charred rosemary and cassis. Very well balanced. This needs some time to integrate everything that’s going on.

Wine Enthusiast, September 2021

The aromas aren't fully ready to reveal their charms, with notes of spice, plum and cherry. The flavors are plump, ripe, and show pleasing purity and depth, with the mouthfeel upping the appeal. It's a lot of wine for the money. Give it a short decant
