Wine Advocate, August 2022
From old vines rooting in quartzite-slate soils, the 2021 Elisenberger Riesling Kabinett opens with a pure and stony, fruit-wise rather discreet but thoroughly mineral nose. Sweet and round on the textured palate, this is a saline, very elegant and linear Kabinett with sugared redcurrant notes on the stimulating saline and finely crisp finish. This is Kabinett as sorbet. It already drinks well young, but it will be more complex in 10-15 years. Bottled in May with 7.5% stated alcohol and a bit less than 50 grams per liter of residual sugar. The acidity is analytically at 11.4 grams per liter but is completely imbedded. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in July 2022. Drink fresh or matured.

Mosel Fine Wines, June 2022
The 2021er Elisenberger Riesling Spätlese, as it is referred to on the consumer label, was made from fruit from 70-year-old vines harvested at 83° Oechsle and was fermented down to fruity-styled levels of residual sugar (70 g/l). It offers a beautifully refined and elegant nose of herbs, smoke, dried white flowers, pear, and prune. The wine has great presence but without weight and the precision is remarkable. The finish is playful with some fruity elements but also zest and purity.

Wine Advocate, May 2023
From 80- to 90-year-old vines picked at 78° Oechsle, the 2022 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett opens with a pretty reductive and sulfidic bouquet with stony and herbal notes wrapping around the bright fruits and white blossom aromas. This wine needs lots of air, but Constantin has already fallen in love with the nose now. Savory, clear and refined on the palate, with crystalline, finely grained acidity and a salivating taste of slate, this is a very promising Kabinett from the iconic cru in Wehlen. The 2022 should be aged for at least 5-10 years, and it will reward your patience with great finesse and complexity. 7.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in May 2023.

Wine Advocate, May 2023
From 90- to 100-year-old vines and picked about four weeks after the Kabinett, the 2022 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese offers a very clear, precise and fresh, substantial and complex nose with fresh lemon and crushed slate aromas. Round and savory on the palate, this is a pure, vibrantly fresh and elegant Sonnenuhr Spätlese with gorgeous fruit and savoriness. The finish is crunchy, saline and mouth-watering. This is a classic in the making, and it should be great in about a decade or two. There is remarkable precision and salivating length here. 7% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in May 2023.
