Wine Advocate, May 2025
As difficult as it is to pick a winner between the Gualtallary and El Cepillo bottlings, the 2021 Gran Enemigo Gualtallary Single Vineyard gets my nod as the supreme example of the Gran Enemigo Single Vineyard Cabernet Francs. It hails from a plot planted on calcareous rocky soils in 1995 with 10,000 vines per hectare, fermented with 40% whole bunches in barrique and underwent a 15-month élevage in 100-year-old foudre. Opening with a brooding, inward and quietly perfumed nose, its aromatic profile ceaselessly expands to encompass all manner of herbal and floral complexity, combining simmering intensity with supreme elegance. The palate follows suit with a rich, silky, refined and gently succulent energy, releasing into a graceful, dense and glacial conclusion that gives equal measure to vertical energy and horizontal richness. The finish slowly but steadily builds upon itself, revealing shimmering acidity and ultra-refined tannins with increased aeration. There is no better example of Cabernet Franc's suitability in the Uco Valley, a match rendered here with incomparable finesse, depth and complexity.

Wine Advocate, September 2022
On the front label of this 2019 Pure Eden Shiraz is the succession of owners of this Eden Valley vineyard. It's an impressive list of families. The nose here is peppered with mineral detail, black tea, graphite, raspberry and pink peppercorns. This is utterly gorgeous, but the Eden, when it's treated right, absolutely is gorgeous. It is capable of majesty and poise like no other. I am totally in love with Eden Valley Shiraz when it's on song.

James Halliday (Australian Wine Companion), February 2023
Fermented wild in new and used 500L puncheons; matured for 10 months with the occasional stir. Among the country's varietal exemplars. Transparent and tensile with an additional nuance of flavour, vibrato and mineral cohesion etched into the firmament of complexity each year. White peach, toasted hazelnut, jasmine and nougatine teem long. The oak, nestled beautifully, serves as a framing backdrop rather than the centrepiece. A wine of precision, intense flavours and immense class.

Jeb Dunnuck, August 2024
The 2021 No 10 checks in as 93% Syrah, 5% Mourvèdre, and 2% Viognier that was raised in 65% new French oak for 22 months. It shows that classic 2021 focus and purity, with darker berry and cassis-like fruits intermixed with ground pepper, sandalwood, violets, and smoky, meaty nuances. With full-bodied richness, it's incredibly concentrated and has ultra-fine tannins, flawless balance, and a great finish. This absolutely heavenly red from the genius of Jim Binns tops out my scale. It should benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and have over two decades of ultimate longevity.

James Halliday (Australian Wine Companion), November 2023
Complex and aromatic with flowers, strawberries, salt and perfume. Medium-bodied with very fine velvety tannins that give great length and presence. Very long and intense. Old vines planted in 1992. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Impressive to drink now but will age so beautifully.

The Adelaide Hills has now proven it can make truly exciting spicy Shiraz. The key is careful site election, low yields and
restrained use of oak. The blend component from the
warmer sub-area of Macclesfield gives structure and richness, whilst Balhannah contributes spiciness and perfume. A vibra

Wine Advocate, March 2021
The highest vines in Gualtallary (at an impressive 1,500 meters above sea level) have produced an impressive 2018 Le Paradis Pinot Noir, which is nuanced, insinuating and detailed with some stony austerity and a sense of inner strength and energy that is gobsmacking. It comes from 1.1 hectares planted in 2011 with Dijon's clone 667 that was micro-vinified in 12 separate fermentations in stainless steel and rolling barrels. The wine matured in French barriques for 18 months. It has pungent and deep flavors and great precision. 2,340 bottles were filled in December 2019.

James Suckling, May 2024
A very expressive pinot with aromas ranging from bramble berry fruit to ash, mocha and roasted herbs. Orange rind, cardamom and tea leaves, too. It’s medium-bodied but packs plenty of flavor and energy on a firm, chalky tannin frame. Delicious already, but better after 2025.

Wine Advocate, November 2023
The 2021 Mourvèdre is another archetypal example of the variety from Andremily, where winemaker Jim Binns manages to polish what can be a naturally rustic variety into a shining, sapphire-like expression. Bottled on August 26 and tasted on October 25, it shows the elegance and juiciness that is characteristic of a cooler growing season. It's explosive and electrically blue on the nose, with incredibly pure aromas of blueberry candy, violet, juniper and accents of coffee beans, warm chocolate, aniseed and grilled Wagyu beef—it continually unfurls to reveal new scents with each return to the glass. The palate is just as impressive with its balance of concentrated, fragrant fruit, fireworks of fresh acidity and finely chalky tannins, and it has a tremendously long, perfumed finish.
The 2021 is blended with 12% Syrah, and fruit comes from Andremily's new Slide Hill estate vineyard, plus the Alta Mesa Vineyard and White Hawk Vineyard in Santa Barbara County. It was vinified using 75% whole clusters and matured around 21 months in 50% new French barriques and 600-liter demi-muids. 500 cases were made, which will be sold as part of a three-bottle box set for $330. A few magnums were also made, which will be sold as part of a two-bottle set with the 2021 No. 10 Syrah.

James Halliday (Australian Wine Companion), September 2024
There is a fineness and sense of grace to the 2022 Block 5 release. It lacks the upfront allure of some of the other Felton Road pinots; it speaks more to fineness of detail and filigreed nuance than upfront gratification. It's in wonderful form with pristine red berry and raspberry fruits, the seasoning of spice and oak just so, top notes of wild flowers and cranberry, deeper tones of dried meats, bergamot and clove oil further in the distance. It travels sleek and precise across the palate with fine-grained tannin and vital minerality. It's an excellent, finely-honed release and just lovely drinking.

Vinous, April 2025
The 2022 Malbec Catena Alta brings together historic vineyards from Luján de Cuyo and Uco Valley to capture the best of both regions: Luján’s generous, supple tannins and Uco’s juicy, fresh fruit. Aged for up to 18 months in barrel, this wine is the essence of Mendoza Malbec. Intense aromas of fresh plum and delicate balsamic notes float over oak and a floral hint in the background. With indulgent depth and a juicy flow, the 2022 balances plush tannins with refined texture to produce a long and sapid palate with a touch of intensity and subtle concentration. This is a rich wine that raises the bar for Mendoza Malbec.

Jeb Dunnuck, August 2023
The 2020 Grenache is absolutely brilliant, and unquestionably up with the finest examples of this variety out there. Based on 78% Grenache, 12% Mourvèdre, and 10% Syrah raised in 50% new oak, it has a kaleidoscope-like bouquet of kirsch liqueur, ripe strawberries, spring flowers, incense, and ground pepper, to name just a few aromatics. This carries to a full-bodied, multi-dimensional, layered, hedonistic beauty with velvety tannins, a powerful yet somehow still fresh and elegant mouthfeel, and a blockbuster of a finish.
