"There are wines which owe their flavor to the grapes alone, while others depend upon the vine’s roots. The former rely on the weather for their quality whereas the latter find their true character in the soil. I love these wines which take their character from the roots."

Andy Howard MW, October 2021
As expected from the master, Jean-Marc Brocard, this is a very fine expression of Montée de Tonnerre which marries power and elegance in the same glass. Lovely purity on the nose with wildflowers and a hint of ripe peach. The palate is concentrated yet still very precise with citrus acidity and a long, lingering mineral finish.

An overtly floral-suffused nose presents notes of spice, ripe pear and citrus rind. The succulent and utterly delicious medium-bodied flavors possess very good vibrancy and length if not the same depth as the Côte de Léchet.

Vinous, January 2020
The 2018 Chablis Côte de Léchet 1er Cru offers good brightness and energy, as well as fine overall balance. Citrus and saline notes give this mid-weight wine some structure.

Wine Enthusiast, January 2022
Bristling lemon and tart nectarine flavors are center stage in this fresh-fruited, youthful Chablis sourced from a premier cru site just outside the grand cru Les Preuses. Accented by hints of crushed almonds and a lingering tang of limestone, it's a rejuvenating white.

This very known soil, the vastest of Grands Crus, has a big personality. The south exposure gives generous, very dry, powerful, rich, long wines on the palate, which make miracles after some years of ageing. Les Clos always develop in an exceptional way in time, by remaining mineral and powerful.

Burghound.com, December 2020
A markedly ripe and noticeably exotic nose that offers moderate Chablis character gives way to dense, muscular and serious flavors that still manage to be more refined than those of the Bougros, while delivering sneaky good length. This is a big wine in the context of what is typical for Vaudésir, yet it avoids being top heavy or rustic
