Celebrating Trialto's 25th Anniversary - El Enemigo Library Offer
We continue our 25th anniversary celebrations with great wine today with one from a longtime partner of ours from Argentina, El Enemigo.
El Enemigo is a project between Catena's chief winemaker of more than 20 years Alejandro Vigil and historian Adrianna Catena, Nicolás Catena's youngest daughter. Founded in 2008, they have received much praise from critics and collectors alike, year after year. Luis Gutiérrez of Wine Advocate asserts in his 2018 report, “They are without a doubt one of the leading names in the whole of Argentina.” A couple years prior Tim Atkin sums up in his report, “You can rely on Ale Vigil to push the envelope of Argentinean winemaking.” And more recently in 2020, Vinous’s Joaquín Hidalgo proclaims the duo to be a “potent combination of experience and creative oenology.”
It is our pleasure to share El Enemigo’s wines in Western Canada, particularly today, their flagship wine from the 2014 vintage, the Gran Enemigo Gualtallary. Coming from 1470 m (4822 ft) above sea level, this single vineyard blend is given care and attention that is second to none -- harvest happened five different times in the span of 1.5 months, fermentation was in second and third use French oak barrels and the wine was aged for 15 months in 100-year-old foudres.
We believe El Enemigo produces not just some of the best wines from Argentina, but some of the best in the world, which the routine high scores can attest to. In fact, Alejandro made the first two Argentine wines to ever receive the legendary 100 Parker points. We encourage you to take advantage of the impeccable wine in this offer and to celebrate our 25th year with us.
Cheers!
