James Suckling on FELTON ROAD
|
|
"If Central Otago was the Côte de Nuits, then Bannockburn would likely be Vosne-Romanée and I’m going to hang it right out and say that Felton Road would be the top gun, the DRC."

Tasted at bottling, this has very attractive, floral and sappy aromas with ripe red cherries, blueberries, blood oranges and orange zest. The oak is very subtle. The palate is very smooth and deeply creamy with a super succulent and rich array of juicy, lithe tannin , carrying to a long, fleshy and fluid finish. From biodynamically grown grapes.

Wine Spectator, January 2020
Aromatic and expressive, with raspberry, cherry and fresh herb notes that are precise on a smooth and supple frame, offering details of matcha green tea, white pepper and forest floor. A hint of fresh nutmeg lingers on the long, expressive finish, where the tannins provide a slight grip.
