"Feudo Maccari is the Sicilian estate owned by textile entrepreneur Antonio Moretti. He also owns Tenuta Sette Ponti in Tuscany and makes some of the region’s best red blends. Moretti was attracted to Sicilian viticulture early on and set out to create great Sicilian reds to match his portfolio of super Tuscans. The territory he selected between Noto and Pachino in southeast Sicily is especially celebrated for Nero d’Avola. Recently, Moretti added the 100% Syrah Maharis to his growing portfolio."

Aromas of black licorice, crushed plum and ground spice. Medium-to full-bodied with powdery yet firm tannins. Fresher and crunchier than past vintages. The red and black fruit on the palate is nicely articulated by steady acidity and some mineral notes. Best after 2025.

Having won international acclaim for his highly sought-after Super-Tuscans Crognolo and Oreno, Dr. Antonio Moretti and his daughter Monica purchased a number of small properties in Sicily near the town of Noto, establishing the estate that is now Feudo Maccari.
