Celebrating Trialto's 25th Anniversary - Langmeil Library Offer
For 25 years our team has proudly shared our passion for wines of People, Place and Time. There have been many people who have helped along the way to make Trialto what it is today; from our incredible winery partners, to everyone who has worked for us over the years. It has long been our privilege to bring sought after wines to Canada, year after year, from some of the best producers around the world.
Today, we continue our celebration of 25 years by offering two library wines straight from the cellars of Langmeil Winery. As with our previous library offers, these wines are of impeccable provenance. Coming from the 2012 vintage, we are pleased to release Langmeil Orphan Bank Shiraz and Langmeil Jackaman’s Cabernet Sauvignon.
The vines of Orphan Bank were originally planted pre-1860s by settlers in the Langmeil village in a different vineyard. In 2006 after the vineyard owner sold his land, the ten rows of Shiraz (320 vines) were nearly destroyed slated to make way for housing development. Committed to preserving old and rare Barossa vineyards, Langmeil asked if they could move the then 140-year-old vines to a new site, approximately 800 metres from the old one on the banks of the North Para River. Each vine was removed one by one and the transplanted ten rows were called the “Orphans.” No longer orphans, the name Orphan Bank is an homage to the history of these vines.
In the 1950s and 60s, Barossa experienced a Cabernet Sauvignon revolution transforming the region from fortified to dry red winemaking. In the 1980s, the region went through the infamous vine pull era and a lot of Cabernet vines were gone as a result. Fortunately, Arthur Jackaman, a World War II paratrooper, boxer, butcher continued tending to his Cabernet Sauvignon vines planted in 1964 up until his retirement when he passed his small lot on to Langmeil. In his honour, Langmeil named it Jackaman’s vineyard and it’s the source of their finest and rarest Cabernet Sauvignon.

Steeped in heritage and history, Langmeil epitomizes wines of People, Place and Time. We encourage you to take advantage of this offer and to celebrate our 25th year with us!
Cheers!
