New to the Trialto portfolio, we'd like to introduce you to Settlement Wines. Owner and winemaker Steve Planthaber is passionate about producing delicious wines that are expressions of the terrior and respectful of the land the fruit comes from.
The purity of fruit and flavour is nurtured in the organic vineyard, and any variation in season is embraced in the winery with little intervention required during the winemaking process, resulting in elegant, complex, and structured wines.

Aromas of ripe yellow stone fruits, sweet grapefruit, baked custard toasty wood and spice qualities of fresh new French oak. Complex and youthful. On the palate, it’s all about texture and synergy of fruit, wood and place. Full bodied, no mistaking the impact of oak with a new wood core and plenty of acidity ensures the ageing potential is engaged from the outset. Cushioning from the ripe fruit, barrel spices and warming alcohol present a wine that will age well, and is ready to drink.

Very enticing aromas of ripe citrus, apple, mandarin and lime-flower scents. There’s a wet river-stone minerality and light saline note. On the palate, an off-dry style with just a few seconds of sweetness before the core of fruit and acidity brings contrast, texture and length. Youthful, balanced, well made and delicious.

Aromas of black currant and dark cherry, there’s plenty of wood spices and barrel smoke moments, dried herb and dry stone mineral notes bring complexity, depth and intrigue. On the palate, dry, tense, youthful, fruity and young. A wine that must remain in your cellar till at least the end of 2022 so integration and harmonies can begin to engage. In the meantime and if you must open a bottle - be sure to serve with fresh protein foods. Firm tannins and acid line add texture, the core of fruit remain but is hidden till the tannins and dried herb layers are allowed to integrate. Plenty of potential and a lovely expression with best drinking from 2022 through 2028+.
