James Suckling, April 2025
Dark fruited and spicy, with undertones of cured meat, black olives and herbs on the nose. The palate is well balanced, with firmly framed tannins and focused acidity that leads to a densely packed yet refined and pure fruit-driven finish with some lovely spicy, cool-climate shiraz flavors. A well-balanced wine that will age nicely.

James Suckling, January 2025
The nose is fresh and vibrant, with refined aromas of lychees, orange blossoms, cut grass, candied limes and flint. The palate is light- to medium-bodied with precise acidity, a generous mouthfeel and notes of green apple skin, grapefruit pith and lemon peel. Fresh with generous complexity.

James Halliday (Australian Wine Companion), July 2023
From a relatively close-planted plot on clay, ironstone, quartzite and shale. Whole bunches fermented wild in open tops with minimal agitation. A headily aromatic shiraz with notes of lavender and green olive and an underbelly of verdant herb and mezcal, the legacy of whole bunches in the ferment. Notes of damson plum, red cherry, violet and sarsaparilla trail across a raft of peppery tannins, a bit drying due to the low-yielding year. A whiff of iodine, peat and smoked meat lingers. This will benefit from some patience.

James Halliday (Australian Wine Companion), February 2023
Fermented wild in new and used 500L puncheons; matured for 10 months with the occasional stir. Among the country's varietal exemplars. Transparent and tensile with an additional nuance of flavour, vibrato and mineral cohesion etched into the firmament of complexity each year. White peach, toasted hazelnut, jasmine and nougatine teem long. The oak, nestled beautifully, serves as a framing backdrop rather than the centrepiece. A wine of precision, intense flavours and immense class.
