Celebrating Trialto's 25th Anniversary – Inglenook Estate Library Offer

Today, we continue our celebration of 25 years with two library wines straight from the cellars of Francis Ford Coppola’s Inglenook Estate. The estate is on an exceptional run. In 2011 Philippe Bascaules joined Inglenook after spending 20 years at the legendary First Growth Chateaux Margaux, first as assistant to the Estate Director and later as the Estate Director overseeing viticulture and vinification. As General Manager of Inglenook, Bascaules moved the wines in a more elegant and classic direction. The improvement on what were already exceptional wines has been profound. Currently as Director of Winemaking for Inglenook, he oversees the 50 year vineyard plan that he put in place with the Coppola family.

We are pleased to release the 2013 Inglenook Rubicon and 2015 Inglenook Cabernet Sauvignon. As with our previous library offers, these wines are of impeccable provenance.

The production of Rubicon, Inglenook’s premier red wine, began in 1978 and restored the Estate’s legacy of making world-class wines. Rubicon is an elegant blend from the finest vineyard blocks and showcases the highest potential of both the estate and the vintage.

Inglenook Cabernet Sauvignon is a tribute to John Daniel Jr., grand nephew of Inglenook Founder Gustave Niebaum. He was responsible for producing the much heralded Inglenook 1941 Cabernet Sauvignon from vine cuttings brought to the Inglenook Estate from Bordeaux by Gustave. Today, this estate-grown wine is blended with the finest lots of Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux varieties that remain after the highly selective blending of Rubicon.

For 25 years it has been our privilege to bring sought after wines to Canada, year after year, from some of the best producers around the world. We encourage you to take advantage of this offer and to celebrate our 25th year with us!

Cheers!

Vinous, December 2016

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Rubicon emerges from the back part of the property, which lies on the foothills of the Mayacamas Mountains. Here the wines are dense, powerful and structured. That is exactly what comes through in the 2013. Layers of dark fruit built into a crescendo of aromas, flavors and textures laced with mocha, espresso, gravel and dark spice overtones. The new oak that was so prominent at the outset has begun to integrate and in so doing is allowing the fruit to come through to a greater degree than in the past. This is a tremendous showing for the 2013 Rubicon.

Vinous, December 2018

A dense, succulent wine, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon captures all the raw power and density of the year. The 2015 is just starting to soften, but ideally it needs another few years in bottle to be at its finest. Readers should expect an especially opulent style, and yet the 2015 has more than enough depth to drink well for another 15+ years or more.
