The first two wines in this offer are part of Zind-Humbrecht’s Roche (rock) lineup. These wines are sourced from young vines grown in limestone (Calcaire) soils from top vineyards or grand crus. The Roche wines provide a marvelous opportunity to taste wines from top sites at reasonable prices! Plus, as with all Zind-Humbrecht’s wines, they’re organic and biodynamic.
Be sure to scroll down to explore the 95 point Riesling from the small Heimbourg single vineyard and the 92 point Muscat Goldert Grand Cru, as well.

Pale yellow straw colour. The nose shows the great pedigree of the vineyards it originates, delivering complex fruit aromas (peach, nectarines, quince….) as well as an underlying minerality. It is also quite showy at this young age and will continue to open up with time. The 2019 Roche Calcaire has a beautiful velvety mouth texture that shows great energy. The acidity brings harmony and make the wine taste actually quite dry and delicate.

James Suckling, July 2021
There’s a lot of discussion about “noble austerity“ in wine, but those wines are often just a bit hard. Produced from biodynamically grown grapes, this wine has a certain mineral austerity, but it is welded to the ripest of citrus aromas and breathtaking vibrancy. Although this already makes an impressive statement, the core is so tightly packed that it will show even better after some time to unwind.

Decanter, September 2021
The Muscat grape variety ages beautifully, offering aromas of mint and bergamot. In its youth, however, like this 2019, it offers a very aromatic, very singular nose, so fresh and vibrant that it is not a simple matter to describe the aromas. On the palate it is pure and fresh, with a medium-bodied texture and a fruity finish. Drink this beauty in 5-10 years, not before.
