Tenuta Sette Ponti is a beautiful 130-hectare property with vineyards, forests, meadows and lakes in the Arno River Valley at about 250 to 300 meters in elevation. Farming is organic, and a holistic fertilization program uses fermented manure from the horse paddocks. The estate also uses foliar fertilization made from natural extracts and seaweed.

There's no doubt that the wines are well made, but stylistically, they fall into a Bordeaux-inspired category that often sees abundant oak sweetness and tannins. A couple of the wines are more Tuscan in character and are made with the native Sangiovese grape.

Blackcurrants and black cherries with lovely flowers on the nose. Medium-bodied with ultra fine tannins that give focus and tension to the wine. Pretty and poised. A little shy now. From organically grown grapes.

A soft and caressing red with a full body and plush, finely woven tannins. Plenty of dark cherry, mulberry, chocolate and some bark. Citrus zest and dried flowers, too. Lightly chewy at the end. 95% sangiovese and 5% merlot. Try in 2025.
