About this winery

Bodega Noemia was inspired by the discovery of a small plot of old vine, pre-phylloxera Malbec in the Río Negro Valley, where almost non-existent rainfall and incessant breezes make vine diseases virtually unknown. Bodega Noemía was originally a collaboration between Danish winemaker Hans Vinding-Diers and Countess Noemi Marone Cinzano. September 2022 (Vintage 2021)

The 2021 Malbec J. Alberto from Mainqué, Río Negro was 30% aged for 12 months in used barrels. Bright purple in the glass. The refined, subtle nose offers notes of violet and sweet and sour cherry with hints of plum, cedar and sandalwood. Juicy in the mouth with finely grained, subtly grippy tannins, refined acidity, expressive flavor and a delicate texture, the nuanced details will grow more prominent in the bottle. A precisely made, pure red, it’s already growing noticeably in the glass.

November 2021 (Vintage 2020)

The 2020 Malbec J Alberto is a Malbec with a 5% dash of Merlot from an old vineyard first planted in 1935 in Mainqué, Río Negro. Half aged in cement and 600 liter barrels, the rest was kept in stainless steel. Bright purple in the glass, fresh cherries are intertwined in the nose with violets, black tea and hints of country herbs as part of a substantial but delicate profile. The aging process plays a supporting role but offers no more than a faint whiff of orange petit fours. On the palate, the balance is precise with delicate weights and measures in which the flow is lean and releases an energy toward the end that fades entropically like a wind-up toy. An elegant wine.

November 2023 (Vintage 2021)

A full-bodied red with olives, blackberries, wild blueberries, mussel shells and hints of licorice on the nose. Fresh and creamy, structured too, with a delicious saline minerality and fine, tea-like tannins. Drink or hold.
