About this winery

The Confuron-Cotétidot name began in 1964 with the union of legendary winemaker Jean-Jacques "Jacky" Confuron to Bernadette Cotétidot. Jacky has since relinquished day-to-day operation of the Domaine to his two very capable oenologist sons, Yves and Jean-Pierre. With old vines spread over four villages in the Côte de Nuits, this is a very impressive array of Village, Premier and Grand Cru sites. Yields were very low at Confuron-Cotetidot in 2016, and especially in the domaine’s
0.4-hectare parcel of Echézeaux. Like the wine from nearby Les Suchots, this is another firm, chewy, densely structured red with savoury, meaty tannins, rich, dark berry fruit and the concentration to age.

January 2016 (Vintage 2014)

This is an old vine parcel in the lieu-dit of Les Treux with an average age of 55 years.
It’s quite firm and austere at the moment, with the whole bunches contributing a smoky, slightly drying note, but what lies beneath is sappy and refreshing, with subtle berry fruit. It just needs time to come together in bottle. 2022-30
