About this winery

The Delormes of Domaine de la Mordorée are a lovely family, committed to their terroir in the broadest possible sense. For them 'terroir' is not merely an expression of geology or geography: rather it is a concept that embraces the totality of life in the place where they live and everything about the way they conduct their lives in that place. Tasting notes

Brilliant notes of white and yellow fruits, peach, pear, apricot, citrus, verbena, iris, and acacia. Round, very long, very fruity, very elegant on the palate. Pairs nicely with fish, shellfish, Comté, and as an aperitif.

Matt Walls, September 2025 (Vintage 2024)

White flowers and candied citrus peels on the nose. Full-bodied, fresh and generous, with good supporting acidity – really quite vibrant acids, which makes for a well-balanced style.

Yohan Castaing, October 2025 (Vintage 2024)

The 2024 Lirac Blanc La Reine des Bois is more tensile than usual, wafting from the glass with aromas of spring blossoms, white lilac, almonds and honeysuckle. Medium- to full-bodied, satiny and layered, it's racy and saline, with an enveloping core of fruit and a long, chalky finish. Crafted from vines planted on galets roulés and calcareous soils, this is a blend of undisclosed proportions of Grenache Blanc, Viognier and Clairette with a touch of Marsanne and Roussanne.
