September 2021 (Vintage 2020)Very fine, silky tannins - not too much - and expressive fruit. Good acidity, it is all well-balanced, juicy, expressive and supremely drinkable but nonetheless structured.

About this winery
Located high above the town of Ampuis and the Rhône River, Domaine Jamet produces tiny quantities of stunning Côte-Rôtie. The estate was founded in the 1950’s by Joseph Jamet and he began domaine bottling in 1976. In 1991 his son’s Jean-Luc and Jean-Paul took charge of the business slowly acquiring small parcels to expand the estate. Matt Walls, October 2020 (Vintage 2019)Very pure, lovely fruit - rich plum and blackberry, this is juicy with velvety tannins. It has good acidity, and a dry, savoury finish with quite serious tannins. Great balance and freshness here.

September 2019Brilliant violet. Smoke- and spice-accented dark berries and hints of licorice and olive on the lively nose. Subtly sweet blackberry and cherry flavors show very good energy and pick up a suave floral quality with aeration. Displays sharp delineation and strong, spicy lift on the persistent, gently tannic finish, which features lingering cherry pit and floral qualities.

April 2020Deep, bright-rimmed ruby. Fresh dark berry and floral pastille aromas are complemented by hints of black pepper and licorice. Juicy and supple in style, offering energetic blackberry, bitter cherry and spicecake flavors that firm up on the back half. The long, smooth, subtly sweet finish features harmonious tannins and a touch of smokiness.
