About this winery

Notes about product
The 2012 Diamond Syrah experienced an excellent California climate with steady, mild temperatures that persisted throughout the summer. This ideal weather helped achieve a rich, deeply concentrated fruit that is layered with alluring spice notes, a gracious structure, and supple tannins.
Grapes for the Diamond Syrah were sourced from three distinct vineyards in the central coast and were blended with small amounts of Petite Sirah. This created a wine that is rich and extremely dark in appearance. Fruit from the Coppola's San Lucas vineyards develops a high level of concentration and intense blackberry aromas from extended ripening on the vineyard’s southeastern slope. The fruit from Paso Robles, however, provides red raspberry flavors and a rich, velvety texture. The combination of these two fruit selections with a small amount of Petite Sirah from Hames Valley produces a complex wine with depth, structure, and profuse aromatics.
This vintage exhibits aromas of boysenberries, cherries, leather, and nutmeg. It is dark magenta in appearance with tasting notes of plums, raspberries, cocoa, and toasted oak.
