The stunning 2022 Grenache The Fifth Wave is made from old vine fruit. It is seamless and radiates with cherry-ripe aromas topped by layers of meaty spice. The 2022 is expressive and vibrant, with a rich core of flavors well-supported by broad, firm tannins. This Grenache is a lovely wine that will age well.

The 2019 Fifth Wave Grenache is ripe, juicy and plush. The luxurious fruit has a warm lilt through the finish, thanks to a ripe picking decision, but loads of pink peppercorn spice to keep things morish.

Aromas of cherries, plums, red candy, dried herbs and potpourri. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and bright acidity. The cooler vintage has brought some real freshness for some early drinking enjoyment.

A brightly perfumed grenache, packed with high-toned red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry fruits, daubed with spice, citrus blossom, wildflowers, red licorice, dried meats and earth. Ditto on the palate, which is light and spacious, spice-packed and flighty; brisk of cadence with an endearing swell of red fruit as it fades off.

From Lyndoch and Light Pass, the average vine age 70yo. The wine spent 19 months in used French oak, and I am surprised that the fruit flavours weren't confectionary/Turkish Delight.

This has a light red-berry nose with fragrant and floral notes. The palate has raspberry and wild red-cherry flavours with fine, elegantly stated tannins. Fresh and long red-fruit finish.

A savory, peppery red that has notes of mixed peppercorns, plums, sage and grilled oranges on the nose. It’s full-bodied and warming, but with a sappy, lightly herbal freshness.
