Eye: Beautiful golden colour, bright green reflections.
Nose: Expressive, white flowers, pear.
Mouth: Great harmonies in its youth with wonderfully complex floral aromas - fruity, spicy, mineral. Good breadth on the palate, freshness, balance and a superb finish.
Nectarine fruit inlaid with a touch of fresh coconut. Full-bodied, generous and rounded, without any excessive oak - it's matured mostly in foudre and some old barriques. Perfectly judged, perfectly balanced and very long. It has great presence and energy, but no excess. Also contains Clairette Rose, Grenache Blanc, Grenache Gris, Picardan, Picpoul Blanc and Picpoul Gris.

Slightly waxy in feel, with layers of flavor and savory detail gliding along -- ginger, chamomile, fleur de sel, dried garrigue. A big, rich white, with excellent energy and balance that stretch out endlessly. Offers tons of delicious appeal right now but will go the distance in the cellar.

On a higher level to the domaine’s Tradition cuvée this year, this has really fresh and lively aromatics and a delightfully vibrant palate. The star fruit and pear flavours have huge impact, and it has remarkable lightness for a wine with such concentration. Long, well balanced and impressive. Also contains 11% Bourboulenc and 1% each of various other white varieties. Biodynamic, fermented and aged in foudres and old barriques. 4,000 bottles made.

Fresh and easy-going aromatics, tarragon and violets beneath the fruit. Full-bodied, a little gummy in texture, but there's a good sense of fluidity to the wine. Clearly defined confit citrus on the finish. Not quite as grand as a typical Châteauneuf perhaps but very good. Very drinkable, with a saline finish.

Medium-bodied, it's not overdone on the palate, showing good, clear fruit expression and a fine, shining beam of acidity keeping everything fresh on the long finish. Admirable corsetry at work.

The flagship release, the 2021 Châteauneuf Du Pape Boisrenard Blanc is based on 42% Clairette, 32% Roussanne, 11% Bourboulenc, 10% Grenache Blanc, and a small mix of other varieties. Slightly deeper gold-hued compared to the classic cuvée, it offers textbook notes of sauteed peach, honeyed citrus, flower oil, and hints of green almonds. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated, and beautifully balanced, it has good acidity and a great finish. It brings more richness and opulence than the base cuvée, but it remains to be seen which of these releases will be the longest lived. Both are brilliant wines.

The 'Boisrenard' Blanc comes from the Domaine's older vines 60-100 years which include a mix of white varieties that Paul and Léon Coulon planted years ago, with Clairette and Roussane at the core of the blend. It possesses a beautiful bouquet, with inviting aromatics of sweet pear, ripe peach, honey, buttered almond, fresh flowers and crushed stones all developing beautifully in the glass. On the palate this is richly textured, with excellent balance and structure, along with delicious flavors expanding on to the succulent finish. This is excellent now, and with extended air contact this really begins to show its stuff. Readers should plan on allowing this a few more years in bottle, as the best is yet to come for this stunning wine.

The base 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Blanc is solid, offering pretty pear and lemon fruits as well as white flowers and a touch of minerality. It's medium-bodied and has a fresh, lively, crisp mouthfeel as well as a clean finish, all making for an outstanding Châteauneuf du Pape Blanc that will be even better with a year or so of bottle age and keep for a decade.

The smaller production 2023 Châteauneuf Du Pape Boisrenard Blanc is based on 42% Clairette, 32% Roussanne, 11% Bourboulenc, 10% Grenache Blanc, and 1% each Picpoul Gris, Clairette Rose, Grenache Gris, Picardan, and Picpoul Blanc. It's slightly more reserved compared to the classic cuvée and has a more mineral-laced bouquet of stone fruits, crushed stone, and toasted almond. It too is medium-bodied and nicely concentrated, with integrated acidity, solid mid-palate depth, and a great finish. Give it a year or two and enjoy over the following 10-15 years.
