About this winery
In the south of France sits the village of Rasteau, a small hilltop parish with a long history of winemaking. First established by the Romans in 30 BC, the hilly, south-facing slopes and smooth-pebbled soils of the region provide the ideal terroir for planting classic Rhone varietals like: Grenache, Mourvedre, and of course Syrah. Cave de Rasteau is one of Côtes du Rhône’s oldest co-operative wineries. Founded in 1925, it now consists of a union of eighty growers managing over 700 hectares....

Product notes
20-25 year old vines were cultivated using 85% manual harvest with a yield of 45hl / ha. There was a planting density 4,000 plants / ha.
Production notes
This rosé was created using the saignée method where the juice is pulled from a tank of red wine to obtain it's beautiful pink colour. Fermentation was conducted at low temperatures.
Tasting notes
Brilliant salmon pink in colour with flash of blue hues. Cherry and wild strawberry aromas, with white-fleshed fruit and hints of tarragon on the palate. A full, ripe flavour profile with a slightly peppery finish.
