Joe Czerwinski, Mai 2024 (Millésime 2021)

The 2021 Chateauneuf du Pape is just as tasty as the Boisrenard special cuvée this vintage, with very similar notes of black raspberries, black olives and garrigue. Perhaps a bit lighter-bodied (still medium to full-bodied), it's a touch creamy on the mid-palate, then adds hints of dark chocolate on the supple, lingering finish. The assemblage here is less Grenache-heavy (65%), with 15% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre and small amounts of other permitted varieties.

Août 2023 (Millésime 2021)

A pure, focused style, with generous raspberry ganache and red licorice flavors that are juicy, inviting and well-framed by finely sculpted tannins and graphite shavings. Full-bodied without being heavy, with black pepper, wild herbs and mesquite playing out on the fresh, structured finish. Grenache. Drink now through 2035.

Octobre 2024 (Millésime 2022)

The classic 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape from this terrific estate checks in as 65% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, and the rest Clairette Rose, Cinsault, and Grenache Gris. It has a beautiful sense of freshness in its ripe red and black berry fruits as well as classic notes of peppery garrigue, spring flowers, camphor, and spice. These all carry to a medium-bodied Châteauneuf du Pape with a pure, elegant mouthfeel, ripe, polished tannins, and a terrific sense of minerality on the finish. It shows the pure, polished, elegant style of the estate while still bringing good depth of fruit and concentration. It will have 15 years of longevity.

Décembre 2024 (Millésime 2022)

Heady, ripe and well-structured, with a cascade of spiced black plum, cherry and licorice snap notes firmed up by a beam of iron and a kick of menthol freshness. Grilled alder and mesquite smoke linger in the backdrop, with pretty lavender high notes. Suave but muscular tannins keep everything well-framed on the long finish.

Février 2023 (Millésime 2020)

An elegant red, with nice freshness and purity to the wild cherry, plum and red licorice flavors. Shows a spine of crushed graphite that firms up the somewhat structured palate, with charred garrigue and sandalwood on the finish. Best from 2025 through 2035
