Octobre 2025 (Millésime 2023)

A blend of 85% Sangiovese and 15% Pugnitello, the San Felice 2023 Chianti Classico Borgo opens to a medium-dark garnet color and velvety smoothness. There is a point of sweetness here with dried cherry and blackcurrant. That primary fruit is framed by light spice. This warm-vintage wine falls on the sweet side of the spectrum. It is fermented in stainless steel (the two grapes are worked separately), and the wine ages in Slavonian oak casks for 12 months.

Antonio Galloni, Juillet 2025 (Millésime 2022)

The 2022 Chianti Classico Borgo is broad and ample in the glass. Dark fruit, licorice, lavender and grilled herbs make a strong first impression. A healthy dollop of Pugnitello lends savory intensity, structure and character. Once again, I find the Borgo distinctive and engaging. The 2022 spent 12 months in cask.

Septembre 2024 (Millésime 2022)

Sanguine and floral with a delicate but persistent earthiness on the nose that offers aromas of cranberry, hibiscus, soil and coffee. That same mix of tart fruit and slightly bitter earth defines the palate, while lively acid washes over dusty tannins.

Monica Larner, Juillet 2024 (Millésime 2022)

Here's a new submission from San Felice that features an overhead map of the property on the front label. The 2022 Chianti Classico Borgo opens to a medium-dark garnet color that is characteristic of Sangiovese from a warm vintage. The wine's bouquet is faithful to the variety, with aromas of wild cherry, potting soil, iris and blue flower at the back. Those aromas are delivered in a very clean and focused manner, followed by good acidity. It is accessible and pleasurable to drink, especially if a plate of pasta with meat ragù is what's for dinner.

Octobre 2024 (Millésime 2022)

This broad, rich red exhibits cherry, raspberry, iron and wild herb flavors. Well-defined and firmly structured, with a fluid feel and outstanding length on the finish.

Juillet 2025 (Millésime 2023)

A juicy and polished red with aromas of sour cherries, currants, dried herbs and spices. The medium-bodied palate is firm and polished, with a dusty texture and juicy acidity. Flavorful and lightly chewy at the end, with moderate length.
