About this winery

Founded in 1825, Domaine Faiveley is one of Burgundy's greatest domaines. Originally the company was a classic negotiant business, based in Nuits St. Georges and engaged in the buying and selling of wine but not the production of it. After seven generations of steadily acquiring properties throughout the Cotes de Nuits, the Cotes de Beaune, Cotes Chalonnaise and now Chablis, the Faiveley family have established themselves as the most important vineyard owners in Burgundy, with 125 hectares of...

Product notes

Domaine Faiveley is responsible for all the work carried out in the vineyard and can therefore have total control over the quality of the grapes, as it is the case in its own plots. Hand-harvested grapes are transported with the utmost care to ours cellars in Nuits-Saint-Georges.

Production notes

The wines are aged in oak barrels for 12 to 14 months, in 19th century vaulted cellars which provide ideal conditions for raising wines. The proportion of new oak, which may vary according to the vintage, represents on average one third of the cuvée. Those barrels come from high quality barrel makers and have been rigorously selected for their fine grain and light toast.

Tasting notes

The wine displays a pale, brilliant, yellow color. Alluring aromas of white and yellow fruits mingle with delicate oaky notes. On the palate, the wine meets up to the expectations of its aromas: it offers a full, round attack before revealing vanilla and toasted bread flavors. The long-lasting finish is slightly acid.
