About this winery
Parés Baltà is a family owned winery in the Penedès region of Spain with traditions dating back to the 18th century. In 1790, the first vines were planted on the estate that now surrounds the winery. Today however, more than 220 years later, almost everything is different. Since 2000, the management has been in the hands of the two grandsons, Joan and Josep Cusiné Carol. Product notes
In the Les Torres estate, at the top of the Penedès, is the vineyard with the freshest and sweetest Grenache. It is a native Grenache from Penedès, . Its resistance to extreme temperatures and its easy adaptation to poor soils make it a perfect variety for making quality wines in a Mediterranean climate. Versatility is another of Garnacha’s strengths, which is why Parés Baltà are fans of it.
Production notes
The grapes cultivated using biodynamic and organic practices. Once harvested they were fermented at 20º C in stainless steel tanks for 4 weeks with 3 daily pump-over’s. They were then aged 5 months in new and 2 fill French oak barrels.
Tasting notes
Lovely ripeness of and generous flavours of raspberry. Elegant floral scents aromas on the nose shows complex and intense fresh wild fruit. On the palate fresh red fruit dominates with a hint of exotic spices and smoky oak undertones. Well balanced, with very fine tannins and a long finish.
