Product notes
This was an exceptional vintage. A cool summer and dry to moderate autumn gave the ideal conditions for Shiraz with great regional character. Parcels were selected from the War Horse, Oakley, Bullrush, Bellevue and Johnston Prolific blocks. Only 14% of the wine was matured in new French and American oak barriques to maintain the distinctive varietal character.
Tasting notes
Aromas of spicy Satsuma plum, black cherry and bramble with hints of vanilla bean, black pepper and mocha. The flavourful palate ushers in dark chocolate, spicy mulberry, liquorice and dark berries, nuanced with hints of coconut and cedar. This powerful wine has great backbone, balanced tannins, subtle toast and a lengthy finish.
