BILLAUD-SIMON
Chablis Bougros Grand cru 2023

(from a purchase of 5 barrels of must; 40% wood). A restrained and attractively nuanced nose is comprised by a plenitude of citrus elements along with pretty floral wisps that are wrapped in moderate but not intrusive wood influence. There is fine volume, richness and power though not nearly the same refined of the Blanchots or Montée de Tonnerre while delivering very good if not truly distinguished depth and length on the ever-so-mildly warm finale.
About Burghound.com
Burghound.com is the result of a nearly lifelong passion for the wines of Burgundy. For more than 30 years, I have been collecting the wines and visiting the region. Each year I spend nearly five months visiting, researching, tasting, exploring and evaluating. Burgundy is my obsession really. Expanding on my coverage of the coveted pinot noir grape, each issue provides continuous coverage of both Oregon and California pinot noir, with rotating coverage of Champagne and occasional special reports from other pinot producing regions.
