Certified organic and biodynamic, Domaine de Beaurenard’s 32-hectare vineyard in Châteauneuf-du-Pape is carefully tended by the seventh generation of the Coulon family. Perfumed and expressive, this lush blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault is joined by four per cent “other varieties,” allowed in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The supple palate mixes savoury, floral, raspberry, cherry and bramble notes with baked strawberry and clove spiked peppercorns. Soft tannins give a lightly grippy tug at the finish. Suited to rich fall fare. Or another three years in the cellar.
