Bright golden yellow. Intense aromas and flavors of ripe tropical fruits and sweet spices. More explosive than the 2012, with even better lift and precision. Finishes clean and long, with serious peppery bite. “I sell ten times as much abroad as I do in France,” Olivier Humbrecht told me, a consequence of the fact that this is a classically dry wine (in France, they like their Gewürztraminers on the sweet side). Made with grapes from the early-ripening Herrenweg site, which Humbrecht picked in the last days of August and beginning of September.
