"The greatest vintage yet from this most reliable of estates, the 2010 Château Pipeau defies expectations. Opaque black-ruby in colour and finely toasted, it wields massively Parkerized (yet enticing) aromas of blackberry compote, plums, currants, espresso-infused chocolate, licorice, charcoal, underbrush, vanilla, and spice. Complex, boasting delicious, finely structured fruit, very firm tannins, balanced acidity, and a lasting, well-established hint of blackberry compote, mocha, and graphite on the finish. Exquisite, sumptuous disposition; very harmonious. The vineyard is planted to 90% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Now-2032. Tasted June 2013"
