About this winery

Duncan Arnot Meyers grew up around wine. His father's best friend was Bernard Portet of Clos du Val, and much of Duncan's youth was spent in Napa Valley. He was mentored by John Kongsgaard and worked side by side with Pax Malhe, Northern California's cult syrah specialist, until June 2008. The "Roberts" in Arnot-Roberts, is Nathan Lee Roberts, second generation master cooper, whose grandmother is Margot Biever Mondavi; Nathan's mother Annie Roberts was executive chef at Robert Mondavi Winery....

Antonio Galloni, April 2020 (Vintage 2018)

The 2018 Pinot Noir Legan Vineyard is a wine of exquisite beauty and precision. Bright red fruit, wild flowers, mint and blood orange all pulse through this taut, beautifully precise Pinot from Duncan Arnot and Nathan Roberts. All the elements are impeccably balanced throughout. Gracious and perfumed, the 2018 will drink well for a number of years. I would prefer to cellar it a bit first, although that will clearly require a bit of willpower.

The 2017 Pinot Noir Legan Vineyard is a gorgeous Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir. Vertical in feel, with tremendous fruit richness, the 2017 is so gorgeous today. All the elements come together effortlessly in this super-expressive, inviting Pinot Noir. In 2017, the Legan is especially sensual and silky. Bright red cherry, raspberry, mint, wild flowers and blood orange add brightness to this pretty, nuanced Pinot Noir from Arnot-Roberts. I would give it a few years in bottle to fully come together, but readers will have a hard time exercising that kind of discipline!
