About this winery

Duncan Arnot Meyers grew up around wine. His father's best friend was Bernard Portet of Clos du Val, and much of Duncan's youth was spent in Napa Valley. He was mentored by John Kongsgaard and worked side by side with Pax Malhe, Northern California's cult syrah specialist, until June 2008. The "Roberts" in Arnot-Roberts, is Nathan Lee Roberts, second generation master cooper, whose grandmother is Margot Biever Mondavi; Nathan's mother Annie Roberts was executive chef at Robert Mondavi Winery....

Antonio Galloni, April 2020 (Vintage 2018)

The 2018 Pinot Noir Peter Martin Ray Vineyard is an incredibly intriguing wine. Irregular ripening might actually be a plus in giving the Pinot myriad shades of complexity. Floral, savory and bright, the Peter Martin Ray Pinot is so expressive and full of character. On the palate, the 2018 is perhaps a bit rustic, and yet it has so much to say.

July 2020 (Vintage 2018)

Dry-farmed, head-trained Pinot Noir was planted at 430m in the Peter Martin Ray Vineyard in the late 1970s. This vintage shows notes of dried leaves, red liquorice and tobacco. There is a rich, burliness to the texture that I find consistent throughout Santa Cruz Mountain Pinots, of which this is a definitive example. This bottle was delicious well into its third day of being open – a sure sign of a long, vibrant life ahead.
