El Enemigo, “the enemy”. The struggle that most defines us in our lives is the one that we wage with our selves. We are all our own worst enemies. This is the credo behind the name on the label. The wines of El Enemigo are enigmatic, charismatic, and verging on iconoclastic. See detailed press reviewThe main source of cabernet franc from El Enemigo (one of the masters of the variety in South America) is located on the sandy stone and limestone soils of Gualtallary, toward the north of the Uco Valley and about 1,400 meters above sea level. In this case, it's a selection of blocks rich in calcium carbonate that, in a cool season like 2021, has given a delicious combination of fruity flavors and herbal notes. The palate is tense and full of firm and juicy tannins, while the flavors of sour cherries have a party going on. A little delight that speaks of El Enemigo's expertise with the variety and an excellent year at Uco.
See detailed press reviewA super-drinkable, linear cabernet franc showing a mixture of blue plums and red cherries with a fresh mineral quality. Juicy, fresh and expressive on the palate, with a medium body and a long, extensive finish. Streamlined, with nothing redundant.
See detailed press reviewOne of the wines that has turned El Enemigo into a global phenomenon, this cleverly marketed Cabernet Franc includes 10% Malbec for an extra layer of complexity. Graphite, rose petal and jarilla aromas are an appealing introduction to a smooth, sweetly fruited palate of chocolate, black cherry and patisserie spices.
