Production notes

Made with grapes from old vines, planted before 1936 and with low yields in Villabuena de Álava.

Tasting notes

Dark cherry with a high and intense layer. Complex aroma, powerful with notes of ripe fruit, spices and smoked. In the mouth it is structured, with ripe tannins and complexity.

April 2021 (Vintage 2018)

Shimmering violet. Expressive aromas of ripe red and blue fruits and candied rose, along with cola, vanilla and pipe tobacco topnotes. Juicy and appealingly sweet, offering lively black raspberry, cherry-vanilla and boysenberry flavors and a spicy nuance that builds as the wine opens up. Finishes sappy, smoky and long, with smooth, slow-building tannins that fold quickly into the wine's plush, oak-spiced fruit. Aged for 20 months in new French oak barrels.

November 2021 (Vintage 2018)

Intense aromas of blackberries, with pungent hints and evidence of French oak. Atlantic expression of Tempranillo: fresh and intense, open.
