About this winery

Parés Baltà is a family owned winery in the Penedès region of Spain with traditions dating back to the 18th century. In 1790, the first vines were planted on the estate that now surrounds the winery. Production notes

Grenache grapes are sourced from the Finca La Torreta estate vineyard located in the Prelitoral Mountain foothills. The vines have an average age of 53 years and are planted on argillaceous loam soils at an altitude of 315m. Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are sourced from the Finca Parés Baltà estate vineyard located in Penedès Central Valley. The vines have an average age of 42 years and are planted on similar argillaceous loam soils. Both are hand-picked and fermented separately in stainless steel tanks to maintain fruit character and freshness. The wines are then blended before ageing in used French oak barrels for 7 months.

Tasting notes

Cherry color of medium intensity. Predominance of red fruits on a soft background of toasted notes and vanilla. Soft and pleasant on the palate with well-integrated tannins. Memories of red fruits, like cherries, intertwined with light touches of vanilla. Intoxicating and with enough freshness to keep everything balanced.

September 2023 (Vintage 2019)

A well-balanced and flavorful blend of garnatxa and cabernet. Dark cherries, plums and earth aromas mingle on the nose and follow through to a medium body with creamy tannins. Vibrant with a fruity and chocolaty finish. From organically grown grapes.
