About this winery

Poggio al Lupo - 'Hill of the Wolf' - was founded by Antonio Moretti of Tenuta Sette Ponti in the Tuscan coastal region of Maremma in 1999. August 2023 (Vintage 2020)

Ripe but also fresh aromas of olives, cassis, currant leaves, black beans and subtle spices. The palate is juicy with plenty of dusty tannins that grow and gather after the medium- to full-bodied center palate, giving it a tight and nicely grippy finish.

A fruity cab with an attractive structure of firm, polished tannins and a juicy finish. Medium-bodied, linear and bright.

Antonio Galloni, August 2023 (Vintage 2020)

The 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Poggio al Lupo is bright, vibrant and packed with fruit, all of which make it a fine choice for drinking now and over the next few years. There's not a ton of varietal character, but the 2020 is delicious just the same. A burst of red berry fruit and sweet floral accents extend the finish nicely.
