THIBAULT LIGER-BELAIR
Bourgogne Aligoté "Clos des Perrières la Combe"
2015
About this winery
Thibault Liger-Belair comes from a great winemaking family that has deep roots in Burgundy: he is a direct descendant of the Napoleonic General Louis Liger-Belair, who acquired the Chateau de Vosne in 1815 when he married Ludovie Marey, whose family had been Burgundy negociants since 1720. Youthful, passionate and always full of ideas, Thibault trained as an oenologist, but had his start in the wine industry as a wine buyer. He is also a former rugby player with a genuine 'down to earth'...

Product notes
This vineyard is 0.55 ha (1.36 acres) and was planted in 1978. The vineyard borders the village appellation Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Argilats and is located on the hillside (Vosne-Romanée side) on very calcareous soils facing south. Upon taking over this vineyard, they converted this entire domaine to organic farming like the other domaine vineyards.
Production notes
This wine is very aromatic with a good length which is surprising for this appellation. The harvest is manually performed with the grapes being pressed directly after cutting. Vinification was in barrel for 16 months.
Tasting notes
This wine has stunning bright acidity with white peach, brioche and lemon notes. This wine is beautifully balanced, rich and nuanced.
