About this winery

In 1781, in the small town of Tupin-et-Semons, south of Lyon and within the most prestigious vineyard of the Rhône, Joseph Vidal founded the House of the same name. From the outset, it acquired an international reputation thanks to Thomas Jefferson, then United States Ambassador to France, who visited the estate in 1787. Production notes

Alluvium deposit from glacial period and Rhône river. Some stones and loess. Gentle slopes facing south and south east. Southern part of the Appellation.

Tasting notes

Appearance pale yellow some gold highlights. Nose very fresh, modern style, floral, white melon, pear, a mineral touch. Palate: fresh, some salt touch, white peach, some honey and smoke.

I loved the 2020 Crozes-Hermitage Blanc, another medium-bodied, vibrant white from this team. White flowers, crushed citrus, and honeysuckle define the bouquet, and it’s medium-bodied and elegant on the palate.

A crisp and fruity white with lemon zest, fresh herbs, stones and white pepper on the nose. Medium body with a zesty freshness and a supple, fruity finish.
