About this winery

Bollinger is a truly classic Champagne house and one of the world’s greatest wine producers, renowned for wines that epitomize Champagne’s unparalleled reputation for elegance and refinement. Founded in 1829 in the village of Ay, by 1884 Bollinger had received a Royal Warrant from Queen Victoria. Adding to its prestige, 1979 marked the beginning of one of the longest standing relationships in cinematic history; Bollinger has been the exclusive Champagne of James Bond ever since. From 1941...

Production notes

100 % Pinot Noir (Blanc de Noirs) from Tauxières blended with the villages of Aÿ and Avenay. The base year is 2020 and accounts for 48% of the blend. The remaining 52% of reserve wines include wines from the 2008 and 2012 vintages. The final wine is cellar aged for twice as long as stipulated by the appellation. The PN 20TX has a moderate dosage of 8g/l.

Tasting notes

The nose opens with scents of fresh citrus and lemon, followed by aromas of white stone fruits, peach and quince. The finish is enhanced by subtle mineral, flinty notes. First, notes of redcurrant and subtle freshness. Then comes beautiful richness, depth and vinosity with delicate touches of stewed fruits bringing extra complexity, all coming together in a lovely long finish.

Very vinous. Captivating aromas of subtle strawberries, flint, gunmetal and crushed stones. Medium-bodied with beautiful purity and length, this has ultrafine bubbles that blend in nicely and go on for minutes. Real clarity. 2020 base vintage with 25% reserve wines. No barrel fermentation. All pinot noir. Dosage 8 g/L.

December 2025

An enticing waft of fragrant spices draws you into the glass, where ripe and juicy black cherry and currant fruit is underscored by a clean swathe of underlying salinity. Details of pickled ginger, crystallized honey, biscuit and white blossoms expand nicely on the plush mousse, which is raw silk–like in feel. This is rich and expressive, with good depth, yet its chiseled acidity provides fine definition throughout. Mouthwatering finish.

Antonio Galloni, April 2025

The NV PN-TX20 is a powerful, tightly wound wine. All the drive of Pinot comes through in this decidedly virile Champagne. As with all the wines in this new series from Bollinger, the NV PN-TX20 is built around a base wine, in this case 2020 Pinot Noir from Tauxières, with 50% reserve wines, half of them from Bollinger's extensive library of reserve wines aged in magnum. This is an especially vinous Champagne, one that needs at least a year or two in bottle to unwind. The year was characterized by a relatively short cycle of just 87 days from flowering to a harvest that began on August 25. Dosage is 8 grams per liter.
