About this winery

The Confuron-Cotétidot name began in 1964 with the union of legendary winemaker Jean-Jacques "Jacky" Confuron to Bernadette Cotétidot. Jacky has since relinquished day-to-day operation of the Domaine to his two very capable oenologist sons, Yves and Jean-Pierre. With old vines spread over four villages in the Côte de Nuits, this is a very impressive array of Village, Premier and Grand Cru sites. This was going through a late malolactic when I tasted it in Burgundy so a little tricky to get a handle on. But in London in January, it was easier to taste. It’s not the most charming of Charmes, it must be said, but the wine is made to age. It has appealing wood spices, umami and fresh tobacco notes and a core of dense red fruits.
