In 1987, Gonzalo Antón, together with a group of friends and business people from nearby Vitoria, began a ground-breaking project in deepest Rioja Alavesa. Made with grapes from old vines, planted before 1936 and with low yields in Villabuena de Álava.
Dark cherry with a high and intense layer. Complex aroma, powerful with notes of ripe fruit, spices and smoked. In the mouth it is structured, with ripe tannins and complexity.
A serious Rioja showing formidable depth, complexity, precision and length. Chocolate, blackberries, minerals and iodine on the nose. Quite polished on the palate, with a full body and polished but broad-shouldered tannins. Long, naturally concentrated and caressing. Clearly shows potential for aging.

Shimmering violet. Expressive aromas of ripe red and blue fruits and candied rose, along with cola, vanilla and pipe tobacco topnotes. Juicy and appealingly sweet, offering lively black raspberry, cherry-vanilla and boysenberry flavors and a spicy nuance that builds as the wine opens up. Finishes sappy, smoky and long, with smooth, slow-building tannins that fold quickly into the wine's plush, oak-spiced fruit. Aged for 20 months in new French oak barrels.
