Jean-Marc Brocard's origins lie in the Côte d'Or, a farmer's son from the village of Chaudenay-le-Château, not even the son of the vigneron. On a deeper, clayey soil with a high concentration of heat in summer, the Butteaux gives concentrated, structured and very floral wines, elegance and power make it a typical wine of its appellation.
Firm and bright Chablis with steely, grippy palate, made from organically grown grapes. A toasted wine with grain of salt notes. On the palate, notes of toasted hazelnut, iodized. A beautiful finesse.
Another organic premier cru in the Brocard lineup, Butteaux shows some baked apple characters and crystalline lemon fruit on the palate with good volume and length. Elegant and refined, this will keep very well.

The 2020 Chablis Butteaux 1er Cru has an attractive wild peach and apricot blossom scented bouquet that is far more expressive than the Montmains. With compelling balance and acidity, the palate is a little more citric towards the finish with a touch of peach lingering on the aftertaste. Good substance, though it needs a touch more tension.
