About this winery

The Trimbach family has a long and storied history in Alsace. Growers since the 17th century the estate is now in the hands of its 12th generation, where brothers Pierre and Jean Trimbach run the day to day operations. Product notes

The 40 hectares that make up the Trimbach estate stretch over more than 50 parcels and 6 villages. The Trimbach estate strives to produce high quality wines by using integrated, sustainable winegrowing practices. This is demonstrated with the winery’s focus on preserving nature; close pruning, innovative techniques for maintaining healthy vines, tilling the soils, producing moderate yields, and meticulous selection of the grapes.

Production notes

The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand. They are then delicately pressed before gravity gently carries the juice to the cellar. It is here where the meticulous work of Pierre Trimbach (12th generation) begins as he vinifies and matures his wines with precision and finesse, constantly mindful of conserving the purity of the particular grape variety and the soul of the unique terroir. Old wooden casks are used alongside stainless steel tanks.

Tasting notes

Vinified dry with a delicate bouquet, this wine is pleasantly balanced with its distinguished fruitiness and natural vitality and richness. Pairs beautifully with shellfish, seafood, sushi/sashimi, white meats in white wine sauces or spices, pork dishes and refined spicy or Asian dishes.

August 2022 (Vintage 2020)

Although this is packed with citrus, pear and white-peach aromas, it's so pure and straight that the simple description "fruity" would be far too one-sided to adequately describe what makes this wine stand out. So energetic that it feels much lighter than it really is (13% alcohol). Fine tannins at the finish underline the dry style.

Bring on the oysters! This is so fresh and bright with plenty of apple, pear and citrus to balance the crisp acidity and the minerality that adds so much interest to the finish.

March 2023 (Vintage 2021)

An archetypal Alsace dry riesling with a wide spectrum of aromas ranging from lemon and crisp pear to fresh pineapple and candied orange. Very crisp and focused palate with a wonderful freshness that’s hard to resist. Long, ample finish that’s very clean. From organically grown grapes.

January 2023 (Vintage 2021)

The fruit for this estate 2021 Riesling is from numerous villages with limestone, sandy and granitic soils. It is blended every year for consistency - which here means purity and precision. A lovely tangerine hint characterizes the nose with tart citrus intensity; a touch of smoky reduction is still at play. The palate, likewise, is a picture of tart, juicy, mouth-watering citrus. It's straight, focused, slender, yet alive. Riesling lovers will rejoice at this taut and refreshing cuvée. (Bone-dry)
