Frost-affected in 2016, in common with the rest of the Premier Cru, the Faiveley holdings were planted in the 1950s and in 1986. This is a classic Les-St-Georges, with serious tannins, intense, dark berry flavours and plenty of grip and minerality. The oak is particularly well integrated here.

This is a négociant cuvée of Les St-Georges, although it includes around one-third of the Faiveleys' own fruit. It's fresh, balanced and will be ready to drink comparatively young - not always the case with this premier cru. It displays appealing freshness in a medium body, with scented wood, 40% new, and a bright, focussed aftertaste.

The best of the Nuits-St-Georges reds chez Faiveley (as it generally is), this comes from a surprisingly small holding of only 0.23 hectares in the lower part of the Premier Cru. Serious tannins, fresh acidity and bramble and redcurrant fruit with lovely length and finesse. 2018-27

A concentrated but rather closed wine with serious structure and plenty of earthy character that will need some time for the tannins to harmonize and for the fruit to open up. Try it in 2023.

A broad-ranging nose features notes of red and dark raspberry, cherry, lavender, earth and a suggestion of the sauvage, all of which is trimmed in just enough wood to notice. There is excellent delineation and vibrancy to the overtly powerful medium weight plus flavors that also possess obvious muscle before concluding in a saline and lightly austere finish. This is quite firmly structured and will need plenty of time to reach its full apogee. In a word, excellent.

A broad-ranging and highly complex nose offers up aromas of red currant, plum, earth and game hints. There is excellent power, punch and delineation to the more mineral-inflected medium weight plus flavors that exhibit excellent persistence on the beautifully well-balanced finish. This is a combination of muscle and grace as the power is delivered without weight. Worth checking out.
